End-of-course Quiz
Arturas reacted to Minoo for a file
Version 1.0.0
50 downloads
This gap-fill exercise will allow you to see how well you've understood the concept of all the tenses we studied together on the Bootcamp course. I have not included any Passive structures. All the sentences are in the Active form. Make sure you have reviewed all seven lessons (Slides or Presentations) before you attempt the quiz. This is how I'd recommend you do the quiz: 1. Read the whole passage without filling in the gaps to become familiar with the context. 2. Fill in the gaps (in a different colour) in two steps: Step 1: Choose the first tense that comes to mind; don't think too long about it. Step 2: Check your initial answers and make any necessary corrections. (For this step, feel free to refer to the Lesson Slides to refresh your memory). 3. When you're happy with your answers, save it as a Word document and email it to me at minoo@anglo-link.com. 4. I will then send you the Answer key to check your answers and mark any mistakes. 5. When you see the correct answer, it should be immediately clear to you why that's the correct tense. If you have reviewed all the lessons and done all the exercises, but you still find the quiz challenging, my recommendation is to book a one-to-one session so we can go through the quiz together for further clarification and some drilling exercises with me in your own contexts. We will be going through the answers in our last LIVE session on Saturday, 15 March at 12 noon. If you're planning to join that session, please send me your completed quiz before Saturday. I'm looking forward to receiving your completed quizzes! Enjoy!Free1 point -

This gap-fill exercise will allow you to see how well you've understood the concept of the tenses you've been studying in the past four weeks: I do, I am doing, I have been doing, I have done, I did, I used to do (vs I was used to doing), I was doing, I had done, I had been doing. Make sure you have reviewed all the lessons (Slides or Presentations) for Weeks 1, 2, 3, and 4 before you attempt the quiz. We will do the test together as an oral quiz in our next Saturday session (Saturday, 22 February). If after reviewing the lessons, you still find the quiz challenging, you can book a one-to-one session so I can provide further clarification of the concepts and do some oral drills with you in your own contexts. I'm looking forward to receiving your completed quizzes! Enjoy!Free1 point -

Here's the passage for Week 7. Try to transcribe the passage before you look at the transcript. If necessary, reduce the playback speed. How to transcribe: - Listen to the first sentence. - Stop the recording. - Write down what you remember. - Rewind and listen again to the same sentence (if necessary several times) and add any details you'd missed the first time. - Move on to the next sentence and repeat the above steps. This is possibly the most time-consuming of all the exercises in the course, but it's an important exercise to improve your listening skills and pronunciation at the same time as focusing on the use of tenses in context. Once you've written the complete passage out, compare your transcript with the PDF and mark any gaps or mistakes. Then, listen to the passage again, particularly to the parts where you had gaps or mistakes. Next step: Move on to the oral drills.Free1 point -
