    This expression means to be 'fully awake': It was 3 a.m., and I was still wide awake thinking about what had happened that evening. There are two common ways of expressing the opposite, i.e. being 'fully asleep': It was 3 a.m. and everyone was ................. asleep. It was 3 a.m. and everyone was ............... for the .................... ANSWERS: sound / fast asleep & out for the count

    Hello everyone, The first one is ''everyone was dead asleep'' and the second one is ''everyone was out for the count'' .
