subject-verb agreement

Question

Luca Nicola

Hello everyone
How are you feeling today?

reference: subject-verb agreement

I can't understand why has is wrong. Sorry but I simply can't get it.

No other data has become available.

'data' is the plural of 'datum'; however, in modern usage, it can be used with a singular or a plural verb:

This data is imprecise.     =     These data are imprecise.

Thanks in advance

Best regards,
Luca

Hello Luca,

Yes, both answers should be considered correct. I'll ask the administrator to adjust the test.

Hello everyone
How are you feeling today?

reference: Meeting, greeting and welcoming a visitor in the advanced section

there's a sentence like this: would you like to freshen up first?

I thought it were: would you like to freshen yourself up first?  Is this other sentence gramatically correct?

Thanks in advance

Best regards,
Luca

Hello Luca,

No, as a phrasal verb, the meaning is complete with out 'yourself':

refresh yourself = freshen up
