Get bit or get bitten ?

Hello Minoo,

I've read or heard several times a phrase like "Be careful not to get bit". It seems to me that it's wrong. We should say "Be careful not to get bitten", isn't it ?

Have a good day.

Hello Bernard,

Yes, you're right. The correct form is 'bitten'.

I haven't heard anyone say 'bit', but it's quite possible that in some regional variation of English, 'bit' has become acceptable.
