Modal verb 'could'

Hello,

I have two questions about the modal verb 'could' :

in the video of the lesson about the Modal verbs 'can, could, may, might', in the exercice, you say

1 - 'it could take a little time, though', but it's a possibility, and neither an ability, nor a request, nor a suggestion. So, i've answered : 'it might take a little time'. Is it incorrect ?

2 - 'you could have asked her', but it's again a possibility, in the past, followed by 'have done' expression. So, I've answered : 'you might have asked her'. Is it incorrect ?

It's not very clear for me yet. Maybe some forms are interchangeable?

Thank you for your help.

Yes, Bernard, you are!

When it comes to modal verbs, it is common:

a) for the same modal verb to have different functions, and as a consequence: b) for different modal verbs to have the same function.
