Splash out

The phrasal verb 'splash out' means 'spend a lot of money on things you don't really need'. There's a saying that can be used as an antidote to this. See if you can find it:

A: I don't really need another jacket, but I'm tempted to splash out on a fancy branded one.

B: That would be silly. My philosophy is: ......................... not, ...................... not.

ANSWER: Waste not, want not.

Couldn’t find anything right away, tried with the words wishes not and desire not

Ideom: If wishes were horses, beggars would/might 'ride. Whising for sth does not make it happen.

Hello Butterfly55 and Phil,

It seems that I've made this one too difficult! Lets' give you one of the words:

................. not, want not.
