Management Tom Posted October 16, 2018 Management Report Share Posted October 16, 2018 Hi Folks A new exclusive video is available. Check it out now: Restaurant phrases If you sometimes invite English-speaking colleagues or friends out for a meal, it helps to be familiar with the common phrases used in this situation. In this lesson, we're going to review and expand on the expressions you have learned in Elementary Conversation Lesson 2 (Inviting someone out). To fully assimilate these phrases, it's important that you engage all four skills by working through the material in the following way: LISTEN to each phrase twice (without seeing it). WRITE it down. READ it (to check your listening comprehension and spelling). REPEAT it out loud (to improve your pronunciation & fluency). Subirana-Elisabet 1 Quote Link to comment

Head Tutor Minoo Posted November 14, 2018 Head Tutor Report Share Posted November 14, 2018 Hello, 1. The reason you hear something like 'which' is that when the sound /d/ is followed by the sound /ʊ/ or /u:/, it changes to /dʒ/: would you >> /wʊdʒju:/ 2. The word is 'sparkling', which means 'with bubbles'. Quote Link to comment
