PHIL73
Hello, I'd like to know how to say when the sun sets every day. I mean, it's a kind of timetable, so I could say: "The sun sets at 5 tonight". But, of course, the hour of sunset is slightly different every day. So, should I use the present simple: "The sun sets at 5 tonight", or the future simple instead: "The sun will set at 5 tonight"? Or even another way of saying it? I never know how to say that, and I haven't found the answer anywhere yet, so thank you in advance for your response, Phil Link to comment
Head Tutor Minoo Posted January 9, 2018 Head Tutor Report Share Posted January 9, 2018 Hello Phil, Yes, as sunset and sunrise times have been calculated and presented as timetables, the best tense to use is Present Simple: What time does the sun set today? In terms of usage, however, a more common question is: What time is sunset today? PHIL73 1 Link to comment
