I found 'deserve' is a stative verb. And these stative verbs cannot use with continuous tenses, we can only use them with simple or present perfect tenses. But i have heard many times a sentence that 'she is a deserving candidate'..so im confused..plz help me out as you can get me out of this confusion.regardz Link to comment

Participle adjectives can be formed from both action and state verbs. You can learn more about these in Module 2 of Intermediate Grammar (Adjectives & Adverbs). You are right that, as a verb, 'deserve' is a state (stative) verb, and does not take a Continuous tense: She is a deserving candidate, and she deserves to get this job. I hope it is clear now.
